Red Chair Salon Charity Hair-a-Thon

Mercy Foundation partnered with the Red Chair Salon to bring the community together in support of Mercy's Cancer Support Group and Mercy Center for Breast Health. Dozens of families received beautiful haircuts and styles and helped raised more than $800 in support of the programs.
“This is the type of event that will inspire all those involved,” says Tim Pair, owner of the Red Chair Salon. “It’s one small way that the salon can help Mercy Foundation continue programs that help those living with cancer cope with and hopefully conquer this disease.”
For generations Mercy Foundation and the Sisters of Mercy have relied on the generosity of individuals and the partnership of local businesses to continue serving those in need of quality healthcare programs and services. The Cancer Support Group located at Mercy Hospital of Folsom gives cancer patients the tools and support to navigate through their journey, from a position of empowerment, strength, humor and hopefulness and to counteract fear, isolation and helplessness.
“The Cancer Support Group provided me with an opportunity to learn more about my medical diagnosis, manage medical issues, explore options to conventional treatment plans, and develop a healing attitude that transcended basic treatment practices,” said one group participant.
The Mercy Center for Breast Health provides women and men in the Sacramento area access to complete breast cancer diagnostics, treatment, education and support services to prevent and fight breast cancer.
