Through its Mercy Ministries Grant Program, each year Mercy Foundation awards grants to local nonprofit organizations whose work focuses on care for the poor and elderly, education, health care and housing. The grant program is made possible by Mercy Foundation's many donors.
This year, Mercy Foundation will offer the following three grants:
-
Ministry Grant: Applicant must be a Sisters of Mercy ministry, which includes Sacramento County’s four Mercy hospitals and their affiliated programs.
-
Partnership Grant: Partnership Grants are intended for projects which outline a collaborative relationship between a community-based organization and a Sisters of Mercy ministry. Applicant must be working directly and collaboratively with the ministry, as of January 1, 2011, to have a positive impact on the health and well-being of the community. Collaboration may be programmatic in nature. Fiscal relationship between the community-based organization and the Sisters of Mercy ministry is not required.
-
Matching Grant: Applicant must be a Sisters of Mercy ministry and must identify how the Foundation will be asked to match funds that have been or will be raised through external funding sources.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

A formally designated as a Sisters of Mercy ministry (included local Mercy hospitals and their affiliated programs) or a community-based organization working collaboratively with a Sisters of Mercy ministry, as of January 1, 2011.
