Mercy Foundation announces new Chief Development Officer


Kevin Duggan to manage fund-raising activities for Methodist Hospital and south Sacramento

 

SACRAMENTO, March 17, 2008 – Kevin Duggan has joined Mercy Foundation as Chief Development Officer for Methodist Hospital of Sacramento, the Catholic Healthcare West (CHW) hospital serving the south Sacramento County. Duggan brings more than 10 years of experience in fund-raising, strategic planning, business administration and program design to his new position.

Duggan will be responsible for planning and managing all aspects of fundraising activities, including fostering relationships that will include a mix of major individual gifts, planned gifts, foundation grants and online, grassroots appeals for Methodist Hospital and the south area.

“We are excited that Kevin has joined the Mercy family,” said Alison Sadler, Chief Operating Officer of Mercy Foundation. “Kevin’s high level experience will benefit Mercy Foundation as we continue to raise awareness and funds for quality programs and services to provide compassionate care to patients and those in need in the south area.”

Prior to joining Mercy Foundation, Duggan served as Executive Director of Society for the Blind, the Sacramento region’s only full service rehabilitation training agency for people who are blind or visually impaired. While with the Society, Kevin oversaw the agency’s first ever capital campaign which to date has raised $3.2 million toward a goal of $5.0 million to purchase and renovate a new facility in downtown Sacramento. He also served as Chief Advancement Officer for the M.I.N.D. (Medical Investigation of Neurodevelopmental Disorders) Institute and assisted key volunteers in securing over $50 million in state and private funds. Duggan received his undergraduate degree and Masters of Business Administration at the University of California, Davis.
