CHW Gives Grants to Nonprofits

Catholic Healthcare West, which runs Mercy hospitals in the area, has awarded more than $525,000 in grants to nonprofit groups.
The grants, ranging from $5,000 to $25,000, will address health issues, including managing chronic diseases and treating mental illness.
The CHW community grants program supports groups that address the underlying causes of illness and social problems including substance abuse, poverty and homelessness.
This year, grants were awarded to 23 organizations in Sacramento and surrounding counties, including the Domestic Violence and Assault Coalition of Grass Valley, Northern California Children's Therapy Center in Woodland, the Sacramento Children's Home Crisis Nursery and Wellspring Women's Center in Sacramento.
