Mercy San Juan Medical Center
 |
Since its founding in 1967, Mercy San Juan Medical Center in Carmichael has evolved from a community hospital to a 260-bed medical center with key specialty practices in trauma medicine, bariatric surgery, cardiac services, cancer treatment, neonatal intensive care, and sleep disorders.
Recently, Mercy San Juan was named among the Top 100 Hospitals in the nation, among only four California hospitals receiving this designation. In addition, the Cancer Center is also one of the region’s largest providers of quality cancer care. Most recently, the bariatric program was one of nine in California hospitals to be cited as a center of excellence; it is also one of only seven such centers nation-wide to participate in a five-year, $1.9 million National Institutes of Health clinical study on obesity and bariatric surgery.
As the community grows, so did the growth of Mercy San Juan. In 2009, the Mercy San Juan Medical Center completed its $125 million expansion project, bringing a new 6-story wing in the hospital and includes 110 addiitonal patient care beds to our community. The project also includes upgrades to the existing building and additional parking capacity to meet the needs of our patients, visitors, employees and doctors. Whatever its size, Mercy San Juan and its healthcare teams will continue to strive for patient-care excellence, embracing every opportunity to combine the latest technology with the most comprehensive and compassionate care.
