Dr. Harry Khasigian is coach to patients who seek to win the painful battle against osteoarthritis, a common degenerative joint disorder affecting more than 15 million people of all ages in the United States.
He and his wife, Lynda, recently made a personal pledge of $25,000 to support Methodist Hospital's fundraising intiative to enhance its orthopedics program with innovative equipment and aesthetic improvements that will further improve patient outcomes as well as expand its capacity to provide specialty orthopedics services to Northern California residents. For the average person, Web terms such as megabytes, meta tags and metadata might seem like a foreign language. But that digital lingo is second nature to Web expert Deanna Reed, who creates robust Web sites for Dignity Health’s Sacramento-San Joaquin Service Area. The Web site and online marketing specialist also helps to manage social media and e-mail campaigns for service-area hospitals and growth service lines.
Deanna participates in Mercy Foundation’s Employees Lend a Hand program, supporting Sisters of Mercy ministries through a payroll deduction. “All of the ministries are worthy of support,” said the eight-year Dignity Health employee. “It’s easy to give back when I don’t have to think about it. Dean Decker proudly remembers his late wife, Kathy Yeates, whose dedication, compassion and generosity made a difference in the lives of patients, nurses and colleagues. Kathy, a long-time Mercy General Hospital intensive care nurse, passed away from cancer in March 2006.

Thirteen-year Mercy Hospital of Folsom employee Lou Anne Knepshield sees dozens of patients each week in the Cardiopulmonary Department at Mercy Hospital of Folsom, where she has worked as a technician for the last 18 months. Eric Henrikson: Crash survivor grateful to Mercy for gift of life
A routine training exercise turned deadly when a Sacramento Sheriff ’s Department helicopter crashed into the hillside above the American River near Folsom, Calif., claiming the lives of two deputies. Eric Henrikson is the sole survivor of the July 2005 accident. He was taken to Mercy San Juan Medical Center with severe head trauma, third degree burns and broken bones.
