Sisters of Mercy 150th Anniversary Celebrations
In the eyes of Sister Mary Baptist Russell, foundress of the Sisters of Mercy in Sacramento, and all the Sisters who followed, no work of mercy was more important than caring for the poor. No action was too great or too small when it came to responding to immediate need. It is this calling that continues to shape each Mercy ministry and the mission of the Sisters of Mercy today.
In 2007, the Sisters of Mercy celebrated 150 years of service to our community. This milestone is made possible through the collaboration and support of our donors and friends of Mercy, who celebrated with us at a number of events that took place throughout the year to commemorate this remarkable group of women.
